A special order is a request to purchase a product that isn’t typically available in our standard inventory. This could also refer to an item we stock but with custom sling, frame, or cushion colors. “Available for Special Order” essentially means that an item is customizable!
When you place a special order, we’ll work closely with you to ensure it meets your specifications. Keep in mind that these orders may take longer to process. If you have something specific in mind, please reach out to one of our sales representatives, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you!

Teak has been well known for centuries for its quality, durability and beauty. Teak is a very hard, densely grained wood with a very high oil content. The unique combination of these characteristics makes teakwood naturally resistant to moisture, rot, warping, shrinking, splintering, insects, fungus, marine borers and termites making it the ideal wood for the production of outdoor furniture.
Teak is often misunderstood as a “high-maintenance” material, when in fact it requires virtually no maintenance whatsoever and will last for generations to come. In less than a year of exposure to the elements, Teak will naturally weather to a beautiful silver-gray patina. The only maintenance needed for your furniture is an occasional cleaning. We recommend using liquid dish detergent (approximately 5 tablespoons per gallon of water) and a soft bristle brush.
If you prefer to preserve the color of your new or cleaned teak furniture, or would like to “revive” already weathered teak to “like new” condition, then we suggest using our Three Birds Teak Care Products:
Three Birds Teak Cleaner
This cleaning solution helps restore teak wood to its original color. While its original gold color can not quite be achieved after it is gone, this solution will turn wood to a clean blond color.

Three Birds Teak Protector
Teak Protector will prevent the oxidation of teak wood by maintaining its original gold color. Apply once or twice a year depending on geographical conditions. If using Teak Cleaner, apply after.

Three Birds Teak Shield
Teak Shield helps protect teak tabletops from spills and stains, preventing unwanted materials from soaking into the wood as easily. Apply after Teak Cleaner and/or Teak Protector if applicable.
Level 1: Protect
Protect new and newly cleaned Ipe furniture.
- When You First Bring Your Furniture Home
- • In a ventilated area, apply Wood Shield as directed on the can to all clean Ipe surfaces to further protect against water and food stains, then enjoy your new set outside.
Level 2: Clean
Cleans up spills, dirt, or dust.
- If Spills, Dirt, or Dust Occur…
- • Wash your Ipe wood surfaces with a nylon bristle brush or soft towel and Penofin® Pro-Tech Wood Cleaner to remove surface dirt, scrubbing in the same directions as the grain of the wood, then rinse off with water. Once complete allow to dry.
- • In a pinch, you may use mild dish soap, then rinse clean with water. Once complete, allow to dry.

Restore your furniture’s ‘as new’ appearance.
- Easy Ipe Color Restoration
Restore The Deep Chocolate-Brown ‘As New’ Finish
Ipe naturally develops an elegant silver patina over time when exposed to the elements. However, if desired, Ipe can be restored to its ‘as new’ chocolate brown finish at any time through our simple color-restoration process:
- 1. To prepare Ipe for a UV-protective coat of Penofin® Verde Oil Finish, use Penofin® Pro-Tech Wood Cleanerwith a nylon bristle brush to remove surface dirt, then rinse off with water.
- 2. To brighten and re-establish the pH balance of Ipe wood to best accept the Penofin® Verde Oil Finish, use Penofin® Pro-Tech Wood Brightener, then rinse off with water and allow to dry completely.
- 3. Apply Penofin® Verde Oil Finish as directed on the can, letting it penetrate for 30 minutes.
- 4. To remove excess oil finish that hasn’t been absorbed by the wood, rub the Ipe surface with smooth rags until dry to the touch. Dispose of rags in a metal bucket of water to avoid spontaneous combustion.
- 5. After completely dry, apply Wood Shield to timber to provide additional protection against water and food stains.
The Penofin® Ipe Aftercare Kit contains Penofin® Pro-Tech Wood Brightener and Penofin® Verde Oil Finish all in one kit.
